Our Commitment

The privacy policy for the "The Future of Uranium in Saskatchewan" public consultation process has been prepared in accordance with The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (Act). "Personal information" means personal information about an identifiable individual as defined in subsection 24(1) of the Act. To provide clarity to users, personal information which may be collected on this website includes, for the most part, the user's name, business name, and home or business address (including email address), and phone number, and personal comments.

Purpose and Authority for Collection

Comments are collected from the public to assist the provincial government in making decisions on the future of the uranium industry in Saskatchewan.

Personal contact information is collected to contact individuals who wish to either receive further information, or who may wish to participate in more formal consultations, on the content that is posted, or similar content in the future.

Only the information necessary to satisfy the purpose of the posting will be collected.

Enterprise Saskatchewan has the authority for collecting information under section 25 of the Act, in connection with The Enterprise Saskatchewan Act and regulations.

Consent, Use and Disclosure

Any information collected on this website will be used or disclosed by Enterprise Saskatchewan and the Chair of the public input process for the purpose noted above and as follows:

  1. Comments may be used and disclosed for the purpose for which they were collected, or a use consistent with that purpose, either internally or publicly. Any personal information contained in your comments that could identify you will be removed before use or disclosure.
  2. All other personal information will be used only in administering the website or to contact you to clarify your comments if required.
  3. If you have indicated that you wish to be contacted in the future for consultation purposes regarding the item you are commenting on, or a similar government initiative in the future, your personal contact information may be used for those consultation purposes.

No official or employee of Enterprise Saskatchewan or the Chair of the public input process, other than those who need to access the personal information to perform an accepted function, including contracted third-party service providers, shall access, use, disclose, or otherwise view the personal information collected.

Except as noted above, your personal information will only be shared with others with your consent or as otherwise provided for in law.

Security

Enterprise Saskatchewan employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. This software receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer that has contacted our website, the date and time of the visit, and the pages visited. We make no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting our site unless an attempt to damage the site has been detected. Enterprise Saskatchewan reserves the right to identify individuals using any services offered within the site in any manner that violates Saskatchewan, Canadian or international law.

Cookies

Some Government of Saskatchewan websites may distribute a small file to your browser, called a "cookie". Such files allow us to provide you with personalized information on your future visits to our websites; they are not used for any other purpose. If you wish, you may change the settings on your web browser to deny cookies or to warn you when cookies will be deposited.

User’s Access to, and Right of Correction of, Personal Information

Personal information is only collected directly from website users to ensure it is accurate.

If the personal information is inaccurate, the user may ask Enterprise Saskatchewan to correct the information. Where practical, Enterprise Saskatchewan shall inform others to whom the personal information had been previously disclosed, if it is thought that the personal information is or will still be used by the other body.

Safeguards

For security purposes, personal information collected by the website is classified according to the government's Guideline for Information Protection Classification as Level B.

Personal information will be stored in an area accessible only by authorized staff and protected in accordance with Enterprise Saskatchewan's security policies.

Destruction of information Collected

Personal information used by the Chair of the public input process will be provided to Enterprise Saskatchewan at the end of the Chair's work on the public input process. Personal information will be destroyed no later than five years after the date of initial collection, or once the information is no longer needed, and will be destroyed in accordance with Enterprise Saskatchewan's policies and procedures for destroying personal information collected.
